Top made of typically Italian split hazel spruce from the Val di Fiemme, air-dried
Back made of flamed Bosnian sycamore, air-dried and always joined from two pieces
Sides and neck made from the same wood as the back
Fingerboard made from the finest grade ebony with C-edge

Strings: Spirocore Wolfram III & IV, Larsen Soloist II &I
The instrument is varnished in the same way as in the 17th century by the great Cremonese masters
Wood primer based on casein and calcium
Lacquer finish with an amber/linseed oil lacquer prepared by Edgar Russ himself, which is coloured with pigments to give the instrument a true-to-original lacquer appearance
