I know it's not original Floyd-rose but I would prefer anything Gotoh over any Floyd-rose product.
I installed it on my partscaster and it sits there like a tank. Returns to zero every time. The tremolo bar stays where you want it to stay.
It weighs (feels) heavy therefore the strings resonate very loudly unplugged.
The material feels high quality, the color is great. It feels like it will outlast everything.
There's no play in between the saddles even when there's no strings on them. The tolerances are insane. So tightly produced.
This is my 3rd Gotoh bridge. The other 2 are 6 point strat tremolos. I would buy Gotoh again for my next guitar.
I am very satisfied with the purchase.

Unbeatable quality/price.

Gotoh makes the Ibanez Edge and Lo Pro Edge... I love these Ibanez bridges. This Gotoh GE1996T has the same quality, but I still prefer the Ibanez bridges... the problem about the Ibanez: the price... is abusive... more than double that this Gotoh bridge.

I bought the Gotoh GE1996T-36-G, to replace a Jackson licensed Floyd Rose with zinc block. The Japanese construction is solid, with hardened steel saddles and, most importantly, a brass sustain block.

Swapping the zinc block for brass makes a clear difference:
More sustain, more defined bass, the guitar gains body and presence, a firmer response when playing.

It has excellent tuning stability. The guitar comes alive — more sustain, more body, and a more "premium" overall response.

The only thing I didn't risk was changing the original posts; it would require a more extensive modification. The original posts are working perfectly, for now.

Not only is it unbeatable for the price, but higher quality in my opinion than a OFR or Schaller Lockmeister. Amazing product.

Be aware you must purchase a locking nut separately however
