I had ordered the soprano model but decided I might be a bit fat-fingered. Also, the pictures showed the older one with peg tuners (updated since) but a quick email to Thomann confirmed it came with geared tuners. Arrived well set up and gig-bag is a bonus. I learned 'When I'm 64' by the Beatles first and won't be turning back :)

Great little instrument

I bought this as a gift for someone who had never touched an uke before. I must say even in their still inexperienced hands it sounds great. It has a warm sound and is surprisingly loud. The only weak point are the tuning pegs, while I don’t mind them being open tuners because of the weight reduction, I hate that they cheaped out on the pegs and made them out of plastic. Probably not a big deal for most, but I would have preferred better quality ones.
Overall though, I’d say it’s a great instrument for anybody that wants a good uke without breaking the bank.

Für alle, die mit den (zum Zeitpunkt dieser Bewertung) hier abgebildeten "klassischen" Friction-Mechniken Probleme haben:

Ich habe mir die Uke gekauft und sie wurde mit normalen Open-Gear-Mechaniken geliefert. Ein bisschen verwirrend, da auch auf der Hersteller-Website die Neuerung nur teilweise aktuallisiert wurde.

Sie sieht dadurch vielleicht nicht mehr so authentisch aus, aber der Stimmbarkeit mag das zugute kommen.

Ansonsten ein für den Preis brauchbares Instrument.

Un look sobre et classe, un son clair, juste et assez puissant, que demander de plus ? Dans cette gamme de prix c'est un ukulélé incomparable. Je l'ai amené chez le luthier pour mettre tout de suite un micro à l'interieur, et voila !!
Bravo Gretsch, de bonnes guitares, de bonnes batteries et maintenant de bons ukulélés !
