IK Multimedia iRig BlueBoard B-Stock

I was looking for a foot switch to control MainStage and I was looking for something that sends MIDI signals. Since it uses the Bluetooth standard to connect it was an awesome fit - wireless control from the ground.
The BlueBoard connects easily with the included app for iPad or Mac. I had problems with the connection on Mac at first, but that turned out to be a bug in OSX. Strange enough if I disable WiFi the Bluetooth connection remains stable. Well, since I don't really need WiFi while performing can live with that for now.
After having a stable Bluetooth connection, getting it to control MainStage was a piece of cake. MainStage automatically detects the MIDI signals and you can easily assign controls to the BlueBoards MIDI signals.
The BlueBoard does move around a little, since the padding underneath are quite smooth. I will probably take the default padding off and put something a little more "sticky" under it to keep it in place when stepping on the buttons.
The buttons don't signal when they have been set, so it is sometimes hard to know if you have pressed the button adequately.
The BlueBoard may not take a very hard beating. It doesn't seem as sturdy as road proven pedal boards. But, it does do exactly what it is stated to do.
I love the fact that two additional switches or Wah pedals can be attached to it.

Leider ist die zwingend erforderliche App so unterirdisch schlecht und unflexibel, dass damit das ganze Teil, außer für einfache Anwendungen nutzlos wird.

Die Bankumschaltung ist nett gemeint, leider kann man nirgends (außer in der App) sehen, welche Bank aktiv ist.

Mischen von CC und PC Befehlen, ein absolutes Muss, geht nicht. Entweder oder... was soll man damit?

Leider sind Verkettungen von Befehlen auch nicht möglich.
Kurzum: Wer genau einen CC Befehl pro Schalter senden will und nicht mehr als 4 davon braucht, kann es mal testen. Dafür ist das Teil aber zu teuer.

Hatte mir das Gerät gekauft, um damit am Mac und am iPad arbeiten zu können. Allerdings ist mein Mac zwei Jahre alt und kann den verlangten Bluetooth-Standard nicht. Steht in der Beschreibung des Artikels eindeutig drin, ist aber trotzdem schade.
Am iPad mini funktioniert das dann ganz gut mit den Apps von IK Multimedia. Der Registrierungsprozess ist aber ziemlich umständlich. Mit Loopy habe ich es auch getestet. Da funktionierte eine Lernfunktion, mit der ich Blueboard Events einzelnen Funktionen zuordnen kann. So etwas würde ich mir auch für Garageband wünschen, da habe ich diese Möglichkeit aber noch nicht gefunden. Ich würde hier zumindest eine Voreinstellung in der Blueboard App wünschen, die die "richtigen" MIDI Befehle an Garageband schickt. Zumindest steht es in den Specs, dass das Blueboard auch mit Garageband zusammen arbeiten soll... habe aber noch nicht herausgefunden wie das geht - auch nicht im IK Multimedia Forum.
