La Bella 2001 Classical Medium Hard

I bought these strings for my handmade Yulong Guo double-top guitar. I have been searching for a string that brings the best out in my guitar. It's a bit of a quirky guitar, very very loud, huge projection, warm, yet with a potential risk for the treble notes in the higher positions to sound a little thin. The La Bellas 2001 Medium Hard Tension strings sorted out this idiosyncrasy. The guitar sounds full all over the fingerboard.

Once strung up for the first time, the strings took very little time to settle, tension and tuning-wise. Within two days of tuning up the strings were stable.

One thing that was a little surprising is that they did take a lot of playing-in to sound as I'd expect. Within the first week I thought I had made a mistake, they sounded a little dull and lacked sparkle, however, after a week or so, they sound incredible, a complete transformation, chalk and cheese and a very welcome surprise.

I am glad I persevered with them - especially given that I play live regularly and need a string that more-or-less holds their pitch given changes in temperature, I'd say they're pretty good in this respect given an almost impossible demand.
