Would definitely recommend buying this for anyone who wants to start or either doesn't have the money to buy 2 good vinyl players to practice at home DJing. I wouldn't take this to a gig, maybe a small party...
I use it all the time when practicing and I think it really helps you develop quick pitch adjusting with the fader, as I never touch the plater to push or slightly slower down as if I apply a bit to much force it just stops! In comparison with the RP 7000 MK2 that is very well built and can really be more "care free", this one really makes you work for it. And playing both the RP 7000 and this one, the RP 4000, makes a big difference and I think a better DJ to be able to adapt to any vinyl player, as I said before you really only can use the Pitch Fader.
Then volume wise there is a big difference, it's quite low output. I have a Xone 64 and to have both the RP7000 and the RP4000 at the same level, I have to crank the RP4000 all the way up to match the RP7000 at unity level.

Pros:
- Makes you learn the harder way to mix vinyl, and to be quick!
- Comes with everything you need to start for a small fee!
- Sounds okay to me, comparing to RP7000 with Ortofon Concorde Club MKII.
- And perfect for home DJ
Cons:
- Low output level
- Motor isn't strong, so slight touch might make it stop
