Soran Dual Stomp Pedal Lite

Others already commented that it's a very versatile unit with great sound quality and that is all true.

For the good or bad, it's still a work in progress with ongoing fixes and feature enhancements.
As an example, there's a self-test screen which lets you confirm that all the buttons and dials work as expected. Did you know that the buttons light up in three different colors (yellow, blue or white)? But none of the effects takes advantage of this and you can't customize the color or use it to indicate anything.
Stereo mode control is present in literally one effect, detune. I didn't notice it in any other effect. It might be there, but I didn't play with it long enough to be sure that it's used.

Soran keeps adding features to the Stomp line and that's great. A recent upgrade added a lot of features for bassists which compelled me to get it.

However, they still missed two things:
1. You can't tap into the signal path before the amp/cab sim and route out dry sound to your own amp. If you're running a combo and feeding to FOH, you either deal with a wet signal to the combo, or you need a sim on the FOH mixer.
2. The tuner doesn't work with bass well. I played with pickup blend, active and passive mode, pluck position, but the tuner is just bad. It takes a long time to react, then it jumps all over the place and then tries to tune on a random harmonic. Maybe it's bass-specific, but I also tried tuning on the first and second harmonic and it was still losing the note.

Neither is a big deal. But fixing no. 1 would free up one Hi-Z input on our Soundcraft Ui mixer and fixing no. 2 would free up pedalboard space used by a tuner/buffer pedal and would let me carry just the Stomp without the whole pedalboard for most things.

Dieses Teil fliegt komplett unter dem Radar der Gear-Medien. Aber es schlägt die günstigen Markenprodukte von ToneX, Valeton etc komplett aus dem Feld. Zum einen hören sich die NAM A2 Sounds schlicht und einfach hervorragend an, und außer einem Touch Wah sind alle Effekte an Bord, sogar Shimmer Reverb. Und zum anderen hat das Dual Stomp das beste UI, das es in dieser Klasse gibt. Die Idee, alle Amp, Cab und Effektslots physisch anwählbar zu machen, die Parameter dann aber mit einem Steuerknopf, ist mE absolut perfekt und, jawohl, bühnentauglich.

Die eingebauten Modeler-Sounds sind zwar preisklassentypisch lauwarm, aber das verliert quer durch die Branche immer mehr an Bedeutung; ich glaube, NAM wird gerade zum Standard.

Für mich ist das Soran nicht nur der gegenwärtige Preis-Leistungs-Sieger, sondern auch das Ende der 1000 €-Modeler. Man kann es an ein M-Vave Chocolate (ca 40 €) anschließen und so alle Effekte ansteuern, wie bei den teuren. Es ist batteriebetrieben und portabel, aber gleichzeitig groß und robust genug, um live damit zu spielen und ruckzuck, ohne App, Parameter zu ändern.

Richtig gutes Teil.

Grundsätzlich ein tolles Gerät, das vieles was ichtig macht, was ich mir beim HX Stomp gewünscht hätte. Schneller Zugriff auf die einzelnen Blöcke, intuitive Anpassung der Parameter auch ohne PC oder Handy. Sound ist grundsätzlich auch gut, aber…

Ich habe ca. 10 NAM und NAM A2 Profile geladen, alles einwandfrei über die Mac App funktioniert. Aber der Sound war extrem zu leise und bei Erhöhung der Lautstärke extrem harsch. Am Rechner über verschiedene Player funktionieren die Profile hervorragend, hier überhaupt nicht. Ich habe die aktuellste Firmware und alles probiert, keine Chance. Schade, sonst wäre es ein mega Teil!
