Good overall 4in-8out speaker management unit, it has everything you would expect from it. It is worth buying just for FIR filtering capability.
It works great with RePhase software, where you can design your filtering and upload it to the device. Sounds excellent when done properly with knowledge and good measurement setup.
There are some problems though:
Very important note, not pointed out anywhere on the product page or manual: if you want to upgrade the firmware the processor CANNOT be in factory default preset mode. You have to load any other preset slot manually BEFORE the upgrade. Dangerous firmware design - if you try to upload new firmware with factory default preset on, you will 'brick' the dsp - it will no longer work. I have learned it the hard way, but was able to recover the device, fortunately.
The other problem is with software connection - it will scan only com ports and Ethernet connections, you cannot simply connect it via Wi-Fi. The workaround is needed either software (Ethernet emulation with Wi-Fi) or hardware (switch between PC and Router).
Pros:
-FIR filters with enough taps for low latency (4096 in total)
-works with impulse response exported in RePhase
-good connectivity via LAN network
-good sound
-simple but effective software
Cons:
-dangerous firmware update, without any warnings in manual
-no Wi-Fi scanning in software
-only 2 channels of digital input and 2 channels of digital output
Verdict:
Despite the flaws, I ordered and tested one, bought another unit and updated it properly and now I am thinking about third order.
Worth it, I will recommend it for other people's install/touring systems.
