I bought these to apply to the first and third valve slides of my Carolbrass trumpet. This is obvious but only occured to me after using them: don't expect them to go far, two are required for every slide, so after one instrument there are now only two rings left.
Although they did the job fine, I can't help thinking that they are basically o-rings and could be bought more cheaply elsewhere.
This is the right size. Doesn't eliminate the sound completely if you're used to slam the slide shut, but very efficiently removes the annoying HF click.
