I have struggled for years with poor thumb position when playing clarinet, and since starting music college have started to suffer pain when playing. This thumb rest has changed all of this as it is very comfortable and supports your thumb whilst also letting your fingers rest in the correct position. It was very easy to fit, and whilst"snapping" the thumb rest on / off can be a little disconcerting at first, you soon get used to this.

This won't fit your Thomann beginner Clarinet

I wish I could review this but I'll have to wait a bit. Meanwhile I think people who bought a Startone beginner Clarinet here could benefit from this info : this item probably fits most clarinets but apparently the Startone series - or at least my SCLK-25 model - doesn't use standard screws (neither in size nor in placement) so you'll have to have this fitted by a professional.
NB : I realize this is not a review but, if you remove it, maybe this can be mentioned in the product description ?

Great thumb rest

As advertised, this thumb rest is really flexible and it is easy to get used to. Very comfortable, too and easy to removeafter practice. I recommend it to anyone who has pain in their right thumb after practice and dislikes using a neck strap.

Huge improvement

Very good addition to the oboe. Relieves pain in the wrist and thumb. Not as adjustable as the upper models of course, but price is fair and good value. Durable although I was skeptical about the plastic. I have used it for a few years, taking it on/off 2-4 times a week no problem.
