you can't go wrong with new Renowns

This is the set I've been pondering upon for almost a year. I wanted a pro shell set in cca 1400¤ price range and basically I had 3 options, Pearl Masters Maple Complete, Mapex Saturn V and Gretsch Renown Maple.

Very soon I have eliminated first 2 for various reasons and ended up with Gretsch. To be honest , I wanted a Brooklyn set , which has a much bigger selection of finishes and has a virgin (undriled) bass drum but hey it is 70% more expensive, and besides new Renown RN2 models have the same 302 hoops as Brooklyn sets, only difference being that Renowns are made in Taiwan and Brooklyns in USA. Oher than that I would say they are identical.

So you pay a premium for made in USA.

So finally, am I satisfied with the Renowns ? Absolutely !!

After unpacking I checked every detail and there was no dents or scratches, everything top notch. One thing that is not stated on specifications is that you get extra 4 tension rods for bass drum, in case you loose some, nice addition, I hope this is a standard and a factory mistake. Also one minor problem that was solved very fast tnx to Thomann team : 10" tom had diecast hoops by mistake while other toms had 302 hoops !. I informed customer support and after a week I recevied 10" 302 hoops directly from Gretsch distributor free of charge offcourse, great support from Thomann as always.

Gretsch famous 30 degree bearing edge is really incredible, my 20" kick drum is sounding huge ,and toms have really nice resonance and responsiveness.

All in all , couldn't be more satisfied.

Ich muß vorausschicken, daß ich selbst gar kein Drummer bin, sondern eigentlich Beschaller und Basser. Ich habe für meinen Proberam aber ein gut klingendes Set gesucht, daß auch nicht zwingend Hig End sein musste. Meine Soundvorstellung ging ganz klar Richtung Yamaha Recording.
Der freundliche Thomann Mitartbeiter hat mir also alle möglichen Sets angespielt (vielen Dank dafür !). Leider hab ich schnell gemerkt, dass gut und billig nicht zusammen geht und meine Yamaha Recording Vorliebe hat sich dann leider absolut bestätigt.
Allerdings wurde es dann doch das Gretsch. Die Toms waren sehr schön (voller Ton), die Kick war fast so gut, wie beim Yamaha und der Preis war sogar günstiger.
Ich bin mittlerweile absolut überzeugt vom dem Gretsch Ding.
Dazu gabs dann nach ausgiebigem Probehören eine sehr geile Snare von Sonor (Sonor SSD 13"x5,75" Benny Greb 2.0) und schöne Becken von Paiste (Paiste 2002 Medium Set).
Ich muss jetzt glaub mal selbst ein bisschen Drums probieren ;o)

Esta bateria Gretsch Renown Maple é verdadeiramente impressionante em diversos aspectos. A construção em maple oferece um equilíbrio notável entre calor e projeção, proporcionando um som rico e cheio que se adapta a uma variedade de estilos musicais. Durante estes 3 anos de utilização eis o que posso verificar desta bateria:

QUALIDADE DE CONSTRUÇÃO:
Gretsch é evidente em cada detalhe da Renown Maple. Os tambores são bem trabalhados e têm uma resposta consistente em todas as afinações. A madeira maple contribui para uma ressonância profunda e um sustain bastante envolvente, enquanto as bordas dos tambores estão deliciosamente moldadas para otimizar a qualidade do tom de cada peça.

DESIGN:
O design vintage que escolhi com os acabamentos clássicos oferecem também uma estética atemporal. A configuração e a disposição dos tambores permitem fácil adaptação a diferentes estilos de música, tornando esta bateria bastante versátil para diversos gêneros musicais.

SOM:
A afinação é precisa e estável, e a bateria responde de forma consistente em diferentes situações de performance. O hardware é muito durável e confiável, refletindo a reputação da Gretsch pela qualidade de construção. No geral esta bateria "canta" muito bem em várias afinações que já experimentei.

Em resumo, a Gretsch Renown Maple é uma escolha excelente para músicos que buscam uma bateria de alta qualidade, com um som distintivo e uma estética clássica. Top Drumset, zeitlos und überzeugend

From Bass to Drums... 11.03.2019

Obwohl ich in meiner Suche nach einem Set mit 20Zoll BD offen und flexibel war, kam ich recht schnell an die Gretsch Renown 2016er. Im semi Preisbereich gehört dieses Set wirklich zu den echt hochqualitativen und zeitlosen Instrumenten.
Setup: das Set ist vormontiert, nur die BD brauch noch Felle, Hoops und Schrauben. Bereits beim Auspacken sieht man die hohe Qualität der Kessel und der Hardware. Alle Schrauben laufen angenehm in den Gewinden.
Sound: Wahnsinn! Der Stimmunfang ist sehr groß, gerade moderne Sounds sind problemlos machbar. Die 20er BD hat mich umgehauen, satt, tief, attacky. Die Toms lassen sich wunderbar abstimmen und singen wunderbar.
Anmerkung: die Verpackung ist zweckmäßig, jedoch dem Set und der Marke nicht ganz gerecht. Dennoch...alles war geschützt und makellos aus den Kartons und Folien zu enthüllen.
Hinweis: die Gretsch-spezifische Tomhalterung bietet für einen Beckenarm standardmäßig Platz... ein unglaublich wertvolles Feature!
Fazit: ein Top Set mit überzeugendem Look und wahnsinnig tollem Sound.
