Reliable heavy picks with great feel and control

The Gibson Tortoise Heavy picks have quickly become my go-to for electric guitar. The heavy gauge gives a solid, confident attack, which is great for precise picking and chunky rhythm parts. They glide over the strings smoothly but still give enough resistance to feel in control. The shape and bevel feel comfortable in the hand, and the surface offers just enough grip so they do not slip, even during longer sessions. They also seem quite durable – no noticeable wear after regular practice. A simple product, but very dependable and consistent from pick to pick.

Great feel and tone

I simply love these picks. From the minute they arrived I haven’t used any of the others I have. They feel brilliant, and give a richness to the tone of the guitar. I have used them on styles like rock blues metal and extreme metal. They work really well on any genre or style. And I think very reasonably priced for how high quality they are.

The real thing

These are great plectrums. Good for metal but also in general for practising accuracy in scales, sweeps etc. Firm but still kinda organic feeling owing to the type of plastic used.

Und noch einmal...

... habe ich mir nach den Dunlop- und den Fender- Gitarrenblättchen, Celluliod-Plektren bestellt, diesmal die mit Gibsonaufschrift. Sie unterscheiden sich von den Anderen nur durch die Aufschrift "Gibson"!

Alle genannten Picks stammen offentsichlich aus der selben Herstellung.

Im Gegensatz zu früheren Ausführungen, mit am Rande und der Fläche glatten Oberflächen, was einen wirklich nebengeräuscharmen Anschlag ermöglichte, hat auch dieses Plektrum eine leicht rauhe Konsistenz, was bei Cleansounds ein leichtes Kratzen verursacht. Schade!

Falls jemand diese Plektren kauft, weil sie hübsch aussehen, empfehle ich die Gibsons, sie waren bis jetzt die günstigsten.

Im Übrigen halte ich es mit Blick auf einen sorgsamen Umgang mit den Ressourcen unserer einzigen Welt für Überflüssig, diese bereits im Plasikbeutel abgefüllten Dinger für den Versand noch ein weiteres Mal in Plastik einzuschweissen.

Obwohl ich jetzt schon eine bemerkenswerte Plektronsammlung mein Eigen nenne, und meine Hoffnungen auf gute Gitarrenblättchen inzwischen recht gedämpft wurden, probiere ich es demnächst, dann mit den Harley-Benton-Äquivalent noch einmal.
